A reinstall replaces the operating-system disk and may erase data. This guide prepares the decision; it does not authorize destruction.
Before you start
Use the access and features actually assigned to your account. Keep a rollback or recovery route before changing existing service settings.
Steps
- Inventory application data, configuration, credentials and attached volumes.
- Make an independent backup and prove an isolated restore.
- Record the exact target instance and explicitly confirm the data-loss scope with its owner.
- After an authorized reinstall, verify fresh machine identity, SSH host keys, network settings and restored application behavior.
Verify the result
The owner accepted the exact target and a usable backup exists before reinstall begins. Stop if either condition is missing.
